Therapeutic Cold  Laser Therapy

  • Safe for any age of patient
  •  Used for over 30 years in the medical field
  • No side effects reported

Can you or your pet benefit  from Laser Therapy?

    Here are some possible indications:

    • Soft Tissue injuries to muscles, tendons and ligaments
    • Scar tissue or old non healing wounds and injuries
    • Recovering from surgery
    • Arthritis, hip displacia, laminitis
    • Chronic or acute inflammation of tendons, muscles or joint
    • Pain relieved by stimulation of acu points

In low level laser therapy the infrared laser energy has a stimulating effect on tissues because it increases cellular energy. The laser light energy becomes absorbed by the tissues, stimulating their metabolic process.

I have been using and lasers for over 10 years.  I first used a laser 13 years ago and was convinced!  I have only seen improvement after improvement when ever Lasers or PMF  is used. Laser therapy is used to improve circulation, prevent and or decrease scar tissue formation, help align collagen fibers and improve tensile strength of tendons and ligaments. It gives pain relief , reduces inflammation and is indicated for many types of soft tissue injuries. In most cases the laser is my first tool when there is pain and swelling or acute injury. Cold laser therapy significantly decreases the length of lay-up time and gets your pet back to having fun and exercise.

Best of all most of this therapy can be done by you with rented equipment .It is effective and easy to use.How do you use it?

Equipment is easy to use & treatment is simple and painless. Most treatments take 12-15 minutes. Depending on the type of laser probe used treatments can be as short as a few seconds to each area to be targeted. You can also perform needleless acupuncture treating the points points only takes 10-30 seconds to each point.

You can contact me to rent this equipment at a very reasonable monthly rate of $250.00

Another great tool for rehab and improving performance are PMF( pulse magnetic field systems)PMF equipment is placed on the animal and left for aprox 30 minutes then you come and remove the blanket or leg boot.

I have an equine leg boot available for use on the canon bone and hoof areas. This helps significantly with muscle bone or tendon injuries to the lower equine limb. Other  PMF equipment is also available for rental or purchase.

In simple terms what does it do?

  • Laser light stimulates the release of the body's own pain killing chemicals endorphins and enkaphalins
  • Facilitating long lasting natural pain relief.
  • Wound healing is significantly improved by low level laser therapy, due to increased levels of collagen brought about. Increases in blood flow and reestablishment of lymph and blood vessels after trauma result in reduction of swelling.
  • It does not create heat or burn tissue!

Low level laser therapy is an effective therapy, which works in harmony with the body's own healing and relieving mechanisms.

How long have lasers been used in therapy? For over 30 years! That is a great record without having side effects. It is one of the safest forms of healing treatments. Safe for any age of patient.

We now see laser therapy becoming more mainstream in hospital and physical therapy settings. Many acupuncturist now offer laser therapy as well.

Low level laser have been used by doctors and therapists in hospitals and clinics in Europe on humans and animals since the early 1970's, Owners and trainers of race and show horses found it of value to treat problems common to these high performance animals.

Are there contra-indications or side effects?

  • You should not look directly into the beam.
  • Caution should be exercised if there is any indication of photo or light sensitivity, such as produced by taking certain medications. Also steroid or cortisone use of anti-inflammatories should be avoided. In all the years that low level lasers have been tested in research and clinical applications, no adverse side effects have been noted.
  • Please keep in mind that a proper diagnosis is always necessary to treat effectively and appropriately.
